Lisa M. Butler, PhD, MPH, PhD is a behavioral scientist and epidemiologist whose research focuses on the design, implementation and evaluation of novel behavioural, structural and biomedical interventions to improve the health of populations in communities that have historically been disadvantaged and marginalized. She has over 20 years’ research experience in countries throughout Africa and North America, including studies focused on HIV prevention and treatment, maternal-child health, and vaccine decision making. Her research approach emphasizes mixed methods, transdisciplinary collaboration, program and community partnerships, community engagement, and design thinking strategies.
